カウアイ サンズ ホテル / Kauai Sands Hotel [HAWAII:Kauai04]
とにかく格安で行きたかったので、パンダエキスプレスにて
「一番安いのをお願いします」と組んでもらったパッケージのホテルがこちらでした。
Although it was a little while ago, I went to Kauai island in 2004.
I couldn't afford it, so I asked the agent of Panda Express for the cheapest package.
Then I got this hotel to stay in.
客室は何棟かに分かれていて、何となくアパートのような雰囲気。
どの棟も二階建てでした。
時間がゆっくりと流れていくのを感じました。
The were several guest wings looking like row houses.
Each one was that were two-storied.
I felt the time went by slowly.
各部屋にラナイがあり中庭にはプール。人も少なくまるでプライベートプール。
鳥の声を聞きながらのんびり。
でも、意外と深かった。
Every room has a lanai and there was a pool in the court. It was usually empty, so it was almost a private pool. I could relax to the sound of birds song. However, the pool was unexpectedly deep.
ホテルのレストラン。素朴感では他に類を見ないかも。
ハワイ大学のカフェテリアを彷彿とさせる
食器と味でした。
This is the restaurant of the hotel.
It was very unique and a little rustic.
The dishes and taste remained me of the cafeteria of UH.
ちなみに私が泊まった部屋はかなり広くて、清潔で快適でした。
古いし、かなり質素なので、「許せない〜」って思う人も多いかもしれませんが、
私は満足でした。
すぐとなりにはモールがあって便利。
ちょっと車で走れば、ロングスやフードランドなども。
二泊三日、オアフからの飛行機代・レンタカー代込みで
200〜300ドルくらいだったと思います。
もし、カウアイに行くご予定のある場合は、ご検討してみてはいかがでしょう？
日本人はまずいませんので、海外にいることを実感できます。

Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the inside.
The room which I stayed in was big enough, for me, and clean. It was comfortable.
I was satisfied with that but some people would say "No way!"
because it is very old and too simple.
However, a shopping mall next to the hotel.
If you have a rental car, you can go to Longs or Foodland easily.
I'm not sure but the cost was about 200 to 300 dollars
including with air ticket from Oahu and rental car.
If you are thinking about going to Kauai, please consider staying.
There were no Japanese and Asians like at the Hilton hotel.

あれは、オアフ島北部へ向かっていたときの車窓の風景です。
なんだか、吸い込まれるようで、
ドキドキワクワクでした。
